BOOM! To Bring Escape From New York Back in Comic Form

Fans of Kurt Russell rejoice. After a successful run of Big Trouble in Little China comics, BOOM! Studios has announced that Escape From New York is next on the horizon. Premiering in December, the comic will be penned by author Christopher Sebela, best known for his work in High Crimes and Dead Letters. The artist has yet to be named.

For those who missed the 1981 cinema classic, Escape from New York is the story of the prison state of Manhattan in the near future of  1997. Yes, you can all start laughing at this point. When Air Force One goes down within the city limits, Snake (Kurt Russell) must find the President within 22 hours and rescue him.

Anyone else feel like their childhood is coming back to haunt them in Comic Book Form?
