It is hard not to find Hello Kitty adorable. With two new books out from Quirk Book Press it’s even easier to find yourself with a house full of the loveable Sanrio creation. The Hello Kitty Baking Book and Hello Kitty Crochet both provide the reader with cute creations.
The Hello Kitty Baking Book by Michele Chen Chock feature recipes by the internet famous I Heart Baking! blogger. She also happens to be a Hello Kitty superfan, which is more than convenient. Designed as the first-ever licensed Sanrio cookbook, the pages include cute treats that can be made from the beginner lever to professional baker. Full color illustrations give the baker a good idea of how the project should look when finished. It includes Cookies, such as the Hello Kitty French Macaroons and Hello Kitty cake pops that look like everyone from Keropi to Chocoat. The book helps celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Hello Kitty and provide readers with tasty treats. Be warned, many of the recipes call for Hello Kitty cookie cutters and cake pans.
For those who are not kitchen savvy but know their way around a crochet hook, Hello Kitty Crochet by Mei Li Lee is a great collection of cute crafts. Lee is a Malaysia-based blogger and crafter for the site amiguruMei. For readers with the gift for crochet crafting and even those who are just starting out (myself included) Hello Kitty Crochet provides multi-skill level crafts for people who love the colorful character. My personal favorite page is for Bad Badzmaru in which his caption reads ” Badtz-Maru Rolls His Eyes At His Humorous Life.” I’m not sure about you, but I couldn’t stop laughing at that translation.
