Phoenix Comicon Fan Fest is Coming

After the second Phoenix Comicon in the summer of 2002 a vendor approached the convention’s director and suggested having another PCC event in the winter. At the time, such a thought was daunting after all, it takes a year to plan the event! However, as years passed and the convention grew, Matt Solberg (founder and director of the Phoenix Comicon Convention) decided that having a winter time event may not be such a bad idea. Thus, the Phoenix Comicon Fan Fest was born!

Birthed from excitement and perhaps a bit of insanity, this new event is scheduled for December 12th-14th of 2014. It will be planned in just under 3 months and managed by only the very best volunteer staff, coordinators, managers and directors. Not unlike the larger summer time event, this convention will host big name celebrities and events however; the primary focus for Fan Fest are the artists and fan made costumes. PCC Fan Fest wants to see the very best Phoenix has to offer in comics and illustration. It wants to see these illustrations brought to life by enthusiastic fans in custom built cosplay costumes. There is a definite emphasis on you, the consumer, for this event.

This new event aims to provide visitors with nice weather, great parking (FREE PARKING!!!!), a variety of dining options (it is being held in the University of Phoenix Stadium which is adjacent the West Gate shopping center) and all the nerdtastic splendor of any other comic convention!

So if you have some time this winter (maybe you put off buying some Christmas presents and need to shop???) stop by the Phoenix Comicon Fan Fest at the University of Phoenix Stadium. Full event badges are on sale now at a discounted price of $30. Not interested in the full event? Single day passes are also available here: http://phoenixcomicon.com/page/10
Nerd on my fellow fan girls!
