Cartoon and Classical music fans alike have something to look forward to. Warner Bros. Consumer Products announced today that Bugs Bunny at the Symphony will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a 20-city tour of the US and Canada including performances with the New York Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, and four performances at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center.
“We’re honored to be celebrating 25 years of Bugs Bunny at the Symphony as it continues to entertain generations of fans at landmark venues around the world,” said Karen McTier, Executive Vice President, Warner Bros. Consumer Products. “Music has always been at the heart of the beloved Looney Tunes and we are thrilled to continue to bring music, laughter and artistic inspiration to worldwide audiences in this celebratory tour.”
Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 14-16 the New York Philharmonic will perform at Lincoln’s Century Avenue Fisher Hall. Whoopi Goldberg will be guest-starring on May 15-16. Costumed Loony Tunes characters will be available for photo opportunities at all the performances. The Los Angeles Philharmonic will perform at Bowl. The performances on August 14 and 15 will feature the premiere of Long-Haired Hare and the concert premiere of Rabid Rider as well as a performance of The Dying Swan by Ida Nevasayneva (a/k/a Paul Ghiselin). In addition to the New York and Los Angeles performances, the 25th Anniversary Tour will continue the multi-city tour begun in January with the New Jersey Symphony.
