In a press release today, Marvel has announced that the studio has begun principal photography for the third installment in the Captain American series, Civil War. Production has started at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, Georgia and will also go on location to Germany, Puerto Rico and Iceland. Joe and Anthony Russo will take the reigns again as directors after their success directing the previous installment in the series, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

The film will see the return of Chris Evans playing Steve Rogers/Captain America facing off against Robert Downey Jr playing Tony Stark/Iron Man. The cast will also include a number of actors returning from the recently released Avengers: Age of Ultron which include Scarlett Johannson as Natasha Romenoff/Black Widow, Sabastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie  as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Paul Bettany as the Vision, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/ Hawkeye, Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes/ War Machine, and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch. Ant Man, played by Paul Rudd is also expected to make an appearance after the release of his solo film this summer.

The star studded cast doesn’t end with the return of the Avengers though. Chad Boseman will play T’ Challa/ Black Panther. Emily Vancamp will appear as Sharon Carter/Agent 13.  Daniel Bruhl will be featured. Frank Grillo is Brock Rumlow/ Crossbones. William Hurt will play General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. Martin Freeman will round out the star filled cast.

The film will continue where Age of Ultron left off. Steve Rogers as Captain America will be leading his team of new Avengers in the fight to keep humanity safe. After another high casualty incident political forces push for accountability for super heroes and a body to govern when the team should be called upon. The tension will cause a riff in the Avengers team as they face off against a new villain.

This announcement comes after the success of Avengers: Age of Ultron which saw the second highest opening weekend of all time, earning  $191.3 million at the box office. It has been the top movie in all of the countries it has been released in thus far.

Captain America: Civil War is slated for release May 6, 2016.
