mlp-eqg-fg-trailer ” Hey hey, hands up now. We’re sending a message to the crowd. Hands wave up, then come down. We’re partying together, all around!” Pinkie Pie echos through my small studio, letting me know its time to face the day. (Yes, my alarm clock is MLP. Technically all my ringtones are MLP.) It never hurts to wake up with your booty wiggling and the positive energy already flowing. That is why My Little Pony is just so amazing, because no matter who you connect with as your spirit pony, they beam the message of friendship. (Even while facing their flaws).

No one expected the quick rise to fandom that My Little Pony got when it rebooted a few years ago. Since then we have seen this cartoon grow bigger and bigger, reaching even more hearts. It only made sense, when they decided to branch out and create Equestria Girls (from Shout! Factory Kids). At first I was skeptical and very afraid. I thought Discord was having a field day with MLP fans around the world. However, when I watched My Little Pony Equestria Girls I was even more enthralled with the Mane 6 and needed more. Not only were there more songs (which is always a plus in any episode), but the plot and story was just as spectacular as fans expect from the show. Not to mention seeing your favorite ponies as people, is always a fun experience.

In 2014 we were transported back to Canterlot High in My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks. Not only did we get a chance to meet some new faces, but more musical numbers when a friendly showcase of music turns into a Battle of the Bands. Here is a clip from the movie, introducing The Dazzlings.

So that is why I am so happy to announce My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Friendship Games which comes out on DVD and Blu-Ray October 13 in stores everywhere. You can also pre-order the movie on Amazon and Shoutfactory.com. Canterlot High meets its rival school, Crystal Prep Academy, in a competition that’s a long-standing tradition –The Friendship Games: a series of exciting events that includes archery, motocross, and rollerskating!  Sunset Shimmer is tasked with keeping magic out of the games to keep things fair while she and her friends compete against Crystal Prep’s top students led by someone with an equal amount of interest in Equestrian magic – this world’s Twilight Sparkle. But don’t take my word that this is just going to be another home run for the books, check out the trailer yourself.
