Grady Hendrix’s Horrorstor imagines an Ikea-like store and the terrors that lie within after the doors close at night. 26-year-old Amy is newly sober when she lands her job at ORSK, a furniture superstore. Desperatly wanting to make a new start, she soon learns that the store is preying on the customers and the employees.
Fox network announced today that they are taking on the premise by ordering an hour-long pilot for a possible season. The show is being executive produced by Oscar Winner Charlie Kaufman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), Josh Schwartz (Gossip Girl), Gail Berman (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and Quirk Books’ CEO David Borgenicht. Michael Vukadinovich of Black List will co-executive produce and author Grady Hendrix will work on the project as a consultant to make sure the feel of the book is kept.
