New Regency and 20th Century Fox just provided the first look at Michael Fassbender as a new character, Callum Lynch, in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed movie, releasing the image earlier today on Yahoo! News. Rather than basing the movie on any of the existing games, the developers have chosen to tell a new story in the same world. Thanks to technology that can unlock genetic memories, Callum Lynch finds out that he is descended from the Assassins. Reliving the adventures of his ancestor in fifteenth-century Spain gives hem the skills and knowledge he needs to battle the Knights Templar in his own time.
The movie is scheduled for release on December 21st, 2016.
