Review- Colder: Toss the Bones #1

unnamed (3)

After an epic psychic and physical battle, Declan and Reese just want some peace and quiet. They are healing from wounds, including Declan losing many of his fingers. What they didn’t count on was a terrifying humanoid creature named Nimble Jack causing carnage after slipping into the world unnoticed. While Declan and Reece grocery shop, Nimble Jack gathers an army of evil and begins to viciously kill, leaving a bloody trail wherever he goes. Nimble Jack wants to find Declan, and he may just have come straight to the front door.

Colder: Toss the Bones #1 is a violent bloody mess. Paul Tobin’s script is chilling and Juan Ferreyra’s art made me want to close my eyes a few times due to its graphic nature. Heads are torn from bodies and places on the necks of others. Giant Lovecraftian-style creatures gather with Nimble Jack. In short, if you have a sensitive stomach, Colder: Toss the Bones might not be a great place to start your comic reading. However, if you’re not bothered by terrifying and violent imagery, by all means dive into the twisted tale.

Colder: Toss the Bones #1 is now available from Dark Horse Comics.
