61SWSyF4jML._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_When a tag line reads “Betty Draper meets Hannibal” you know you are in for a wonderful treat. Dark Horse newest original comic, Lady Killer, is just that. A dark delicious, irresistible, can’t get enough treat. Seriously, this is the first comic I have ever reread as soon as I finished. I couldn’t get enough!

LadyKiller-banner-nLady Killer takes place in the 1960’s bliss with homemaker Josie Schuller. She gives a new definition to women who can do it all. Not only is she taking care of the house, her husband, and children, but on the side she is a ruthless killer for hire. Being a big non-horror fan, I was delighted to see a very well mix between graphic scariness and comedy. I instantly feel in love with the character and her sarcastic attitude.

However, it isn’t just her personality that sets the pages on fire and makes you want to read more. HER STYLE IS AMAZING! I am a huge sucker for all things retro and as the trend continues to grow, Lady Killer couldn’t have come out at a better time. Josie Schuller is always dressed to the nines, leaving this cosplayer to change my whole wardrobe to match hers. I couldn’t help, but stop to mark pages that I knew would be an amazing cosplay. Would people get it? Maybe not, but who cares. My love for Lady Killer and all the talent that went into this comic is all that matters.

Lady-Killer-2-2nd-Print-2-5-15Writers Joelle Jones and Jamie S. Rich fill the pages with action, suspenseful plot that will leave your heart caught in your throat and your booty on the edge of the seat. You can’t help but be pulled into the hectic balancing act that is Josie Scheuller’s life. While the writing is the heart of the comics, the art work is just as powerful. Artist Joelle Jones fills the pages with eye popping detail that adds another flawless element to an already incredible comic. But what really makes the art pop off the page, is the colors that showcase the different settings during the 1960s. Colorist Laura Allred found a great balance between the bright colors of fashion and dark colors for the mood, to finish the touches on the masterpiece that is Lady Killer.

Lady Killer Issue 1 debuted in January 2015 and is currently on Issue 5. Don’t have time to track down all 5 Issues? Don’t worry, because the comic gods are smiling down on us. On Septemeber 15th, Lady Killer Paperback will be available, including all 5 issues. You can pre-order now on Amazon for $9.70.
