I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE My Little Pony. I love everything it stands for. The good messages it sends, the laughter it brings, the friendships it promotes, and the stories that stick with us. When My Little Pony first announced they were trying something new with Equestria Girls, I was freaked out. I thought it would be a flop and ruin one of my favorite things in the world. But after watching the first movie, My Little Pony Equestria Girls I was dying for more of this alternate universe. Lucky for me, the journey has continued through their sequels My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks and newest addition My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Friendship Games.
Friendship Games comes out today in stores and I already have a few copies for friends. While this isn’t my favorite movie out of the three, Friendship Games is a great movie. Not only does it show a new side to Canterlot High, who in the last two movies have had some bad run ins with magic beings. The plot for this movie, focused more on the school as they worked together during an Olympic style competition between the two schools. I love that this movie really focused on the friendships between the Mane Five and their newest bud Sunset Shimmer.
While I wish there had been more musical numbers, especially one at the end. I can’t stand this ones last song being a dark, slightly down number. It is just weird and left me feeling like I needed something more. HOWEVER, the first two songs are packed with energy and school spirit. I have been listening to them on repeat for days!
While I could have used more songs, I was over the moon with all the different outfits that Rarity had ready for the competition. I kept pausing and added more and more ideas to my Cosplay list. At this point by the fifth movie, I should have a whole wardrobe that allows my inner pony to shine in style.
My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Friendship Games was filled with action, wodnerful one liners (from the one and only Pinkie Pie), and a great message about teamwork, sportsmanship, and of course their golden oldie friendship. What are you waiting for? Pick up the movie today and add it to your ever growing My Little Pony collection. Don’t have a My Little Pony collection, well it’s never late to start one.
