‘Hillary Rodham Clinton Presidential Playset’ is Sure to Ruffle a Few Political Feathers

Cover for Hillary Rodham Clinton Presidential PlaysetWhether you love her or loathe her, Hilary Rodham Clinton is a current force in the political world. With Clinton’s eyes set on the 2016 election, Quirk Books is releasing the Hilary Rodham Clinton Political Playset for all your White House dream needs. The book is illustrated by Caitlin Kuhwald and features paperdolls in the shape of Hilary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Clarence Thomas, Ruth Bader Ginsberg and more. Hilary comes complete with different facial expressions, such as “Dignified Disapproval” and “Badass.” She also has Presidential Pantsuits and evening wear. Former President Bill Clinton is featured in slippers, with options of a saxophone or lawnmower (but thankfully no interns). There are 3 sets to play with the dolls on, including The Oval Office, The South Lawn of the White House, and the Situation Room.

While I love the fact that I now have a Notorious RBG paperdoll of my very own, this book is really unkind to the Republican party. Their page is labeled as “Republican Adversaries” and features figures such as Jeb Bush and Beelzebub. Though the book just came out, it’s also sadly a little behind the times. John Boehner is no longer in Congress and Scott Walker is out of the running for president. There’s also a pretty obvious lack of Donald Trump, but a pretty big inclusion of Bono from U2.  However, Republicans can seek out revenge by placing the Beelzebub face over Hilary’s or have the Ghost of Nancy Reagan look on with displeasure.

Democrats not voting for Bernie Sanders will love the book. Folks who have been hate watching the Benghazi coverage will likely find it paper doll drivel. No mater what side you’re voting on, playing with political paperdolls is a great way to voice dreams and frustrations without resorting to namecalling on Facebook.

Hilary Rodham Clinton Political Playset is available November 17, 2015 from Quirkbooks.
