If you have ever been to a comic convention chances are you have seen a LEGO replica (or two) of Star Wars cities, space craft and even characters. LEGO replicas are a growing fad in convention life as they cater to both young and old with their vibrant colors and surprisingly detailed layouts. Despite the awe and wonder that LEGO displays create there remains a plague among those who must setup such incredible pieces of art. A plague…nay, a curse that haunts many a person who has befallen the sly trickery of a lone LEGO on the floor. This curse goes by one name: LEGO Pain. The sensation of stepping upon a LEGO brick can be equated to stubbing multiple toes against a piece of furniture or to stepping upon cold, nerve piercing ice. In an instant the bearer of such pain feels their life flash before their eyes as they are forced to pull the tiny brick (or bricks) one little circle from a time out of the angry red flesh of their suddenly sore foot.

Let’s be honest: the pain is brief but its brevity leaves trauma in one’s mind. Now why would we, at FanGirlNation, remind you of your foot’s worst nightmare? It’s simple really: there is a solution. According to the French Blog Piwee: Inspiration et Creativite Quotidienne (which roughly translates to Piwee: Inspiring Daily Creativity) LEGO has released a pair of slippers which is said to prevent its wearer from experiencing the remarkably excruciating pain of LEGO to foot contact. There is just one teeny-tiny catch: Brand Station and LEGO are only distributing these to individuals who participate in a French Christmas List Contest. In order to receive a pair you must be in one of France’s neighboring European nations or in France itself so those of us in the United States are out of luck this Christmas. However, if this pilot of 1,500 slippers receives applause, the world could be looking at LEGO branded slipper distribution within the next year.

In the interim, please don’t give up your admiration for LEGO built objects. We ask that you stand strong against the brick pain; that you face the dawn with renewed determination and hope knowing there is a cure for the viper like sting of LEGO brick attack. Keep on building your AT-AT replica and we’ll keep you informed of developments in LEGO foot protection. LEGO on Fan Girls, LEGO on!
