Amazing Arizona Comicon: The “Mutant” Bonanza!

Valentines’ weekend this year offers quite a bit excitement. Not only is it the annual Amazing Arizona Comicon weekend it is also the release date for the much anticipated Deadpool movie. A movie and theme that AACC has latched on to with tenacious creativity. Kicking off their convention weekend, AACC is offering the “Ultimate Deadpool Movie Experience” at the AMC 24 Theater off of 3rd street in Phoenix, Az. What makes this experience so special? The creator of Deadpool, Rob Liefeld, with attend the event IN PERSON and sit right next to adoring fans as the movie debuts on the big screen. Audience members will have a chance to get an autographed copy of the new Deadpool #1 comic and they will be entered into raffles for more Marvel swag. As if one mutant wasn’t enough, AACC is bringing out a cast of mutant themed authors, illustrators and creators. Rob Liefeld and Chris Claremont have ushered in numerous mutants in their X-Men series, Kevin Eastman is the visionary behind the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, and Steve McNiven who has taken comics to the next level with “Old Man Logan” and the new “Guardians of the Galaxy” comic series! Not much of a comic book reader? That’s ok! Join AACC on Friday for “Force Friday” where they offer the Star Wars enthusiast a chance to purchase discounted merchandise and participate in Star Wars themed events/raffles.

Still not intrigued? Maybe your a cosplayer then? If so, make sure to visit AACC on Saturday where they ramp up the show with a costume contest! All ages and genres are welcome and registration takes place Saturday morning in a “first come, first server” fashion.
