This workshop is designed to be an intimate and immersive experience for aspiring genre filmmakers. The retreat supports the next generation of horror creators as they work to develop their projects with established creators.

The initial Shudder Lab program will take place June 13-18 in New Palt, New York. It will feature various workshops on directing, screenwriting, and special FX. Participants will get to learn from the Masters in Residence. These are expert filmmakers and producers who will lead guest lectures and workshops. The retreat is 6 days and each participant will graduate as a Shudder Fellow with a $5,000 grant and a year-long mentorship from one of the Masters-in-Residence.

Shudder Labs is now open to filmmakers who have produced at least one short film or micro-budget feature. Ten participants from across the U.S. will be selected at the end of April. Further details on the program and application can be found at labs.shudder.com
