Goodbye, Prince. I am so thankful for all you made, and all you did, and the example and inspiration you’ve been for me. I love you.

Prince was a weird black kid from the Midwest, creative, ambitious, sexy, messing with gender. He was a beacon for a Midwest girl like me.

Bowie, Prince. Two men who showed the world that masculinity is at its best diverse, and complex, and kind.

When a creative genius dies, we share their work to keep it alive. There’s so much great Prince material out there we’ll be busy for a long time.
Take this mini-documentary about his Superbowl performance:
Prince: "Yes I know it's raining"
Super Bowl producer: "You okay with that?"
Prince: "Can you make it rain harder?" https://t.co/zTcbzkBgKX

There’s also his amazing guitar solo at an event honoring George Harrison.
When asked what it feels like to be the best guitarist alive, Eric Clapton said, "I don't know. Ask Prince."

Or this show-stopping SNL performance.
Of course, many of us will invoke Prince’s own words to express what we’re going through.
"Party over. Oops, out of time."
