Sabaku Con: Come Join the Fray!

Share

May 6th thru the 8th all those enthralled by Japanese culture, animation, costuming and merchandise will be drawn to the signature anime theme comicon in Albuquerque, New Mexico: SABAKU CON!
Sabaku Con

Sabaku Con is run by MonkeyPaw Entertainment (the same company that hosts Saboten Con in Phoenix, AZ every year around Labor Day) and as a fan of this organization I just HAD to share with all of you the amazing guests, programming and events this convention boasts. So, without further adieu, here is a quick preview what Sabaku Con has planned this year…

Guests
Whether it be cosplay, music, art or voice acting this convention has a lot to offer! Those interested in panel hopping can enjoy presentations by cosplay guests Cara Nicole, Kovuu, Poison Sugar, Sweets4aSweet and Katybear.

Cosplay not your thing? No problem! Take a seat and listen to the smooth sounds of Hollow Mellow or Kazha!

Perhaps you are interested more in the talent behind the art? Then visit the actors/actresses behind the voices of your favorite anime OR discover the artists that drew them in the exhibitor hall or at a panel! More information is available HERE for such celebrity interactions.

Programming
If you’re the type of person who attends conventions for the panelists then you are in for a treat! This convention has hundreds of hours of programming that focus on the following themes…

  • Anime
  • Cosplay
  • Entertainment
  • Gaming
  • J-Culture
  • Manga
  • Music
  • AND MUCH, MUCH MORE!

There are also panels geared to more Adult OR more kid friendly conversations.

Check out the list of panels for this event HERE.

Merchandise
Looking for that special trinket or print? Perhaps you need a new wig or you want to meet the artist you admire. Sabaku Con has a large exhibitor hall that attendees are free to roam between the following times…

Friday: 12:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Saturday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Sunday 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM

For cosplayers there is a masquerade and plenty of photo opportunities so don’t delay! This event is only a week away and rumor has it that tickets sell fast! Visit http://www.sabakucon.com/ for information on ticketing and hotels.

I (Sam) will be there all three days taking pictures and interviewing attendees. Be on the lookout for the FGN badge and cards; see you all soon!
