‘Bat Dad: A Parody’ is the Book Our City Deserves

Blake Wilson, father of four, became a Vine video sensation when he donned a Batman mask and began asking his children to do things. Using a gravely Batman voice (ala Christian Bale’s Dark Knight) he instructs his children to brush their hair, calm down in the car, and finish homework. His videos have been shared an amazing number of times, but Wilson never expected his antics to capture as much attention as they have. In the introduction to his new book, BatDad: A Parody, he briefly thanks his ever-patient wife, loves on his children, and explains how he grabbed the mask on a fateful trip to Target.

BatDad: A Parodyis a collection of images of a masked Blake Wilson interacting with his children. Each picture is accompanied with a hilarious quip or batman child rearing reference. Parenting as Batman is not for the faint of heart, it seems. Some of my personal favorites have to do with Wilson’s interactions with his daughters, including one hilarious image where one has covered his mask with bright pink stickers.

BatDad: A Parody is now available from Three Rivers Press.
