Unboxing Power–the May 2016 Loot Crate

The May’s Loot Crate, Power, is one of the more scantily filled crates, and with one exception, the contents are not particularly impressive.

Infinity Gauntlet Oven Mitt

I have all the power!

The exception is an Infinity Gems oven mitt, which is all kinds of awesome. I started laughing the minute I pulled it out of the create. It’s going to be such fun cooking with it! The Loot Crate booklet includes a chocolate recipe to go with it, the grandly named “Thanos’ Muffins of Death! (By Chocolate).”
Dragon Ball Z Key Ring from the May 2016 Loot CrateOtherwise, there is a Dragon Ball Z key ring which looks a bit like a cat toy, an ok sculpture of the Hulk, and a gray World of Warcraft T-shirt. Also, no socks. I thought the Loot Crate always had socks—isn’t there some kind of unwritten rule about this?

The Dragon Ball Z key ring is really just cheesy. It’s a stuffed ball with a vaguely snake-like creature (also stuffed) around it. If you are the sort of person who is always losing her keys in a large, item-filled purse, the key ring might be helpful. It’s big. If you are the sort of person who prefers carrying keys in your pocket, or who has a smaller purse, this is going to be something to hang on your wall—or perhaps to give to your cat, though I cannot warrant its safety as a cat toy.

The Hulk Fig

My, what big teeth you have!

And then there is a Hulk figure. It’s…a figure. It has very large teeth and the back pocket is a little battered even just out of the box. Only strong Hulk fans will love this, just for the sake of it being the Hulk. Avengers fans may like it, but it’s otherwise not terribly appealing.
May 2016 Loot Crate World of Warcraft T-shirt

Ok, so this is nice. It’s just…grey.

The T-shirt pattern is actually pretty good. The silhouette against an image is appealing. The only real problem is that it is grey, which is a rather dull color to wear.

The booklet is, as always, fun to read, with humorous articles, including one on how to become a superhuman, and ¬a good-sized interview with Robert Kazinsky, who plays Orgrim Doomhammer in the upcoming World of Warcraft movie.

Overall, Loot Crate has been great fun, but this is not one of their better offerings.
