For those heading in the opposite direction of San Diego Comic Con, there are even more to look forward to at the Jpop Summit. Between July 22, 2016- July 24, San Francisco will be hosting one of the biggest celebrations of Jpop and Japanese pop culture. Not only will there be some fantastic Jpop entertainers hitting the stage, there are some great activities for the fans! Check them out below:
JPOP IDOL CONTEST
With all that massive energy and inspiration flowing in to the ears, JPop summit along with support from the Consulate General of Japan, will host an idol karoake contest. Brush up on your favorite Jpop pop stars!
In order to be considered a finalist to perform onstage and be judged by the women of SILENT SIREN, participants are to submit a video karoaking their hearts out. Entry guidelines can be viewed here. Good luck!
JPOP DRAG QUEEN CONTEST
Now this is super exciting! Jpop summit will be hosting the first ever “Jpop Queen” drag contest. The contest will be judged by Mitz Mangrove, prominent Japanese Drag Queen celebrity. Hosting the event with San Francisco’s gay icon, D’arcy Drollin
Contestants are to showcase their Queen power to its full potential along with lip sync performances. . Just like the Jpop Idol contest, contestants are to submit videos in order to considered as a finalist to perform onstage. Entry guidelines can be viewed here.
ODOTTEMITA DANCE CONTEST
A staple of the Jpop Summit, the popular dance contest returns with one slight difference. There will be no dance battle on stage. Every contest is to submit a video of their performance. The selected finalists will be performing onstage. The contest will be judged by festival Guest of Honor and featured performers, GARNiDELiA.

JPOP SUMMIT COSPLAY MASQUERADE
Of course, there cannot be a Jpop masquerade without a cosplay masquerade! The event is co-hosted with Coskami. Bring your cosplay A-game! Entry submissions can be found here.
