RoosterTeeth fans, prepare yourself. RTX gets started this Friday, July 1st, at the Austin Convention Center, and Downtown Austin Hilton and JW Marriot. Yeah folks, it’s grown that much. The creators of such fan favorites as Red vs. Blue, RWBY, Lazer Team and Day 5, gather together gaming groups and fans for a fantastic weekend. Even Pizza Hut has teamed up with the crew to keep the time honored tradition of Pizza and Gaming together. It’s a heck of a time, y’all.
This RTX is expected to be the biggest yet, and looking at the list of guests and attendees that seems to be a given.
“We’re on track to produce our biggest RTX yet and couldn’t be more excited,” said Rooster Teeth Co-Founder and Executive Producer Gus Sorola. “RTX has grown exponentially since inception and continues to be one of the biggest events of its kind in Texas. This year we’re especially excited to have Palmer Luckey, the creator of Oculus, as our keynote speaker, and to launch our first ever Rooster Teeth Animation Festival in conjunction with RTX, inviting some of the most prominent web-based animators today to screen exclusive animations for attendees.”
Gamers will get a ton of hands-on time at RTX too. 343 Industries will host a Halo 5: Guardians Free-For-All Open tournament and give away over $5,000 in prizes. Demos, gaming competitions, and screenings will be everywhere, with panels featuring figures from the industry. Twitch, the social video platform that shares your gaming playtime, will be live streaming all the action from the main stage for fans who can’t make it.
Bummed that Austin has lost both Uber and Lyft? Never fear, RTX has a solution for you:
New personal transportation service Fare has been named the official ride-sharing partner of RTX. For transportation needs during RTX, attendees can download the Fare app for free in the App Store and Google Play and use the code RTX2016.
