When you think of Tulsa, Oklahoma, likely you don’t think of a huge video game culture. XPO Game Festival is hoping to change that. September 23-25, 2016 the Cox Business Center in Tulsa will be filled with gamers, game developers and industry leaders for a weekend of games, panels, and tournaments.
The XPO Game Festival will feature a dedicated tabletop gaming area, laser tag arena, film screenings and a $10,000 Rocket League tournament set up by LegionBattles. Like something out of the book Ready Player One, there will be a Retro Lounge featuring a huge collection of old-school arcade games.
Ray Hoyt, the president of VisitTulsa is excited to have a convention like this in the heartland, instead of on either opposite coast:
“XPO was created so that America’s Heartland can have its very own game festival. Both local and visiting game enthusiasts, as well as developers, deserve a place to meet and connect with industry leaders from all over the country. XPO is the perfect opportunity to do just that while celebrating the vibrant atmosphere of Tulsa.”
Early bird passes are available until August 1st. You can get your tickets here: http://xpotulsa.com
