With Civil War II over, Carol Danvers a.k.a. Captain Marvel is taking on the role as the most well-known Super Hero in the Marvel Universe. Her superstardom doesn’t mean she’s liked, however. In the middle of dealing with her new public image, she also is partnering with Alpha Flight, working to train the next group of planetary defenders. It’s hard to lead and teach when she is still dealing with broken loyalties from Civil War II.
Writing the new Captain Marvel stories is Margaret Stohl. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because she recently published Black Widow: Forever Red, and is the author of the Beautiful Creatures series.
“She can’t undo the events of Civil War II, and those events will have changed everything — most of all Carol herself,” Stohl says. “Captain Marvel has suddenly become a household name — so what now? While she finds herself at the top of her game, she’ll also discover that being there means that game is more dangerous and complicated than ever.”
Captain Marvel returns in December.
