The Landfill Harmonic is finally coming to theaters in Los Angeles and New York for a short time this September. The movie follows the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura, a Paraguayan musical group that plays instruments made entirely out of garbage. When they unexpectedly went viral, the group found themselves playing to sold-out venues and with groups like Megadeth and Metallica.
Landfill Harmonic offers the chance to watch them on their travels and to learn of their lives. Directed by Brad Allgood and co-directed by Juliana Penaranda-Loftus the movie has played in 140 film festivals won over thirty awards. This is the first time it has been available in public theaters.
