Patrick Stewart to Leave the Role of Professor Xavier After ‘Wolverine 3’

Cover Say it isn’t so! Patrick Stewart (most known for his role as Captain Picard on Star Trek the Next Generation) said:

“I would imagine this is probably the end of the franchise for me.” He said in an interview with ITV. He continued the interview with “But the thing about Science fiction and fantasy is that you can never, ever say it’s the end, its over.” He continued to tease the role of the Professor’s involvement in the upcoming Wolverine 3 film. He will be taking a new approach to the character for this next installment. Saying “This Charles Xavier is like nothing you’ve ever seen.”

It’s very sad to see Patrick leave after being with the X-Men franchise for 17 years now, but all good things have to come to an end. Wolverine 3 is scheduled to release next year on March 3rd.
