While I was already excited for Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Alamo Drafthouse theaters had to up the ante for Tim Burton lovers. Instead of just this one Tim Burton movie, they are celebrating several. Alamo Drafthouse is hosting Septemburton; a month long festival of Tim Burton films, Burton-themed label pins from Mondo, a commemorative issue of BIRTH.MOVIES.DEATH, and special food and drink all month long.

The food and drink specials are hilarious:

Fully ingest the magic with specials like the spirit-raising “Sandwich for the Recently Deceased,” Coca-Cola braised pork in “Beetlejuice” sauce on garlic-herb toasted ciabatta, piled with pickled onions, arugula, and radish slices; the artfully crafted “Scissor Chopped Salad,” romaine and cabbage, topped with croutons, bleu cheese dressing and shish kabob vegetables; indulge with the “Shake, Shake, Shake Senora,” a vanilla ice cream-based adult milkshake richly blended with ginger liqueur, Averna Amaro, dark chocolate, and Oreo crumbles; or dance with the devil with “The Pale Moonlight,” a gin-based cocktail with cointreau, lemon, and crème de violet.

There will also be special pins provided by Mondo. The first set, themed for Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands, is done by artist Matt Ryan Tobin. The second set is a tiny Handbook for the Recently Deceased designed by Oliver Barrett. They will be available as ticket add-ons at Alamo Drafthouse or from Mondo.

If film making is more your style, there is always the Burtonize This! bumper film contest. This contest has creators make a 30-second bumper film to be shown before the festivities. Winners will receive a pair of VIP badges to Fantastic Fest 2017, plus airfair within the continental United States.
