In a very meta- and possibly foolhardy move, the creators of Morgan decided to have two advanced, real world robots watch the trailer for Morgan. They then filmed the two robots, magicLab’s EDI (Electronic Deceptive Intelligence) and the University of Pisa’s FACE (Facial Automation for Conveying Emotions) to record their reactions.
Even EDI, who at least calls the trailer “scary” has some oddly-timed cheerful moments, and judging by that creepy smile at the end, we should really be keeping an eye on FACE.
In all seriousness, you can learn more about EDI and about FACE here.
