Today, Marvel introduced Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna), who will be joining Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. this season, which begins Tuesday September 20th at 10pm EST on ABC. The clearest look at the character is provided in an Entertainment Today photo, which shows the spirit of vengeance in his non-flaming form. According to executive producer, Josh Whedon, the show makers will be putting “their own spin on the character,” though they “are staying true to the comics in the places where we feel like it’s really important — we love the character’s family dynamic and the East L.A. kid in him.” Although Marvel is gradually introducing gods and magic to their television and movie universe, they are still “will definitely be trying to science this guy with the flaming skull,” according to executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen.

The found-footage provided by Marvel is a blurry, cell-phone style clip showing flickering flames and the merest glimpse of a car pulling away.
