In 1975, John Lennon was at the height of his fame and done with the Beatles. He moved to New York City to raise his family, work on new creative projects, and meet his adoring American fans. In 1980, he would be killed by Mark David Chapman. In the new graphic novel, Lennon: The New York Years, Eric Cobeyran adapts David Foekino’s novel of the same name into graphic novel form. The images are done in haunting black and white by French artist Horne.
The piece is biographical fiction, following the life of the performer as he moved from childhood, to Beatles fame, to a solo career.
Lennon: The New York Years will be available from IDW Publishing in May 2017.
