The Band Slayer and Dark Horse are Releasing a Comic

Metal fans, we’ve got some good news. Dark Horse and the band Slayer have announced a partnership to create the comic Slayer: Repentless. Issue #1 is set to hit shelves January 25, 2017 and Dark Horse is very much taking pre-orders.

Oh, it gets better. Slayer is working with Metalocalypse writer Jon Schnepp and Twilight Zone artist Guiu Vilanoa for the 3-issue mini series. The covers are being handled by Eisner Award-winner Glenn Fabry.

“It’s been my honor to chronicle the bloody road trip that is the Slayer comic series from Dark Horse/Nuclear Blast,” said writer Jon Schnepp. “Using the band’s music and lyrics from their three decades of albums, while crossing over and through the Repentless music videos by BJ McDonnell, I have woven a tale of betrayal, hate, perspective, loyalty, family, and murder that will need to be experienced through the comic books’ pages.”

The story focuses on a “raging road trip down a bloodstained highway, a tale of the doomed and the damned.”
