When Blade Runner premiered, it blew audiences away with its odd look at a possible future. The upcoming film, Blade Runner: 2049 hopes to capture that imagery and feeling once again.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
The film stars Harrison Ford (thank goodness), Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, with Dave Bautista and Jared Leto. Ridley Scott plays producer this time, with Denis Villeneuve in the Director’s chair. I want so badly for this film to be good. If the cast is any indication, we’ve got a great chance.
Blade Runner: 2049 comes to theaters October 6, 2017.
