Grant Morrison and Dan Mora are back with Klaus. This time, the well-muscled immortal, better known as Santa Klaus, sets out to rescue to kidnapped children Along the way, he comes across his old friend Gepetto. The toymaker has replaced his entire body with enchanted wood, save for his brain and heart. The Witch of Winter has kidnapped two children to use as bait, wanting Klaus to arrive and be controlled by her to create enchanted wooden soldiers.
I won’t lie, I’m still having a hard time with beefcake Santa. The storyline of Klaus and the Witch of Winter is interesting, the art fantastic. However, if you haven’t read the previous issues of the series, you’re going to feel thrown off. I know I was, and only because it’s been a while since I’ve read. Still, you will catch up and understand before this special issue ends.
Klaus and the Witch of Winter is available Wednesday December 21, 2016.
