IDW Publishing is bringing to you probably one of the coolest coloring books I’ve ever seen: Vintage Romance Comic Book Covers Coloring Book. For just ten dollars you get 64 pages of lovely vintage romance awesomeness. Now I am a romance nut. I started reading my moms old school Johanna Lindsey books way back when I was like ten, so way too early. So for me, this coloring book is wicked nostalgic.
The book came out on March 7th but I got an early look, that lasted way too long thanks to my entire household being sick for nearly two weeks. But that aside, when I was finally coherent enough to print off a few pages to color so I had a solid idea of a review, I had a hard time choosing which to pick. There are so many great options. You could color Boy Loves Girl, Cinderella Love or Diary Confessions. Those are just three of the many cool options. For me, I chose Teenage Love. I haven’t gotten a chance to color it yet, but I will. Soon.
The other one I chose to print was, Cowgirl Romance. Because well, I married a cowboy, didn’t I? I had a lot of fun coloring this one in and though I haven’t finished yet, I’m going to. And then I’m going to hang this bad boy in my office so I can look at it and smile.
I love coloring. Even before adult coloring books became a fad, I was always coloring with my kids in their coloring books. I keep hearing the trend is on the wane, but if it is, I’ll still be here, coloring all the fun stuff. It’s calming. It relaxing. It makes me smile. And what else do we need in life but to smile?
