Sometimes we do have nice things.
On June 3, 2017 DC Comics is celebrating Wonder Woman Day with exclusives, giveaways, signing events and digital promotions at libraries, bookstores, and comic book stores all around the world. This also (and not coincidentally) celebrates the opening weekend of the Amazon’s first solo movie.
Sounds like there’s a lot planned. Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Walmart, Costco, and Amazon are all set to provide promotional items. Warner Bros and Six Flags Theme Parks are also in on the game. Writers and artist like Greg Rucka, Phil Jimenez, Cliff Chiang, Shea Fontana, Marc Andreyko, and Cat Staggs are participating in special events, and some retailers are selling Wonder Woman tiaras and bracelets in honor of the day.
DC All Access will be holding a Wonder Woman Week countdown series from from May 29-June 3. According to the release, “The six-day Wonder Woman takeover will spotlight essential books, sit down with key talent from the “Wonder Woman” feature film, and also discuss the iconic character’s legacy with acclaimed comic writers and artists.”
The press release didn’t go into any details on library involvement, or how worldwide “global” is, so we’re asking for some elaboration there. We’ll update when we get it!
Join the celebration on June 3 and share on social media using #WonderWomanDay.
