Caesar and his apes have come a long way from their beginnings as lab subjects–a very long way. Now, they are ready for the War for the Planet of the Apes. Now, Caesar, played by Andy Serkis, is ready to do battle with grenades, guns, grimaces, and an extremely overused one-liner. Also galloping horses and bows and arrows because–why not?
The movie may have questions about the nature of humanity and etc, but the trailer goes straight for the pounding music and gunfire. It’s far from unique in that regard, which makes judging a movie by its trailer supremely difficult.
That said, what’s your judgment? You going to be there on July 14 when the movie hits the theaters? Or are you going to the beach?
