Netflix is on a roll with unique animated programming as of late. They’ve now ordered twenty episodes of Disenchantment, an upcoming adult animated comedy series from Matt Groening. The creator of The Simpsons and Futurama will take viewers to the land of Dreamland, where they will follow the misadventures of young princess Bean. Bean is a hand drinker, accompanied by a “feisty” elf companion named Elfo, and Luci, Bean’s personal demon.

“Ultimately,” says Matt Groening, “Disenchantment will be about life and death, love and sex, and how to keep laughing in a world full of suffering and idiots, despite what the elders and wizards and other jerks tell you.”

The series will feature the voice talents of Abbi Jacobson (“Bean”), Nat Faxon (“Elfo”) and Eric Andre (“Luci”), along with John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, and Lucy Montgomery. Animation will be done by Rough Draft Studios, the same studio that did Futurama. Disenchantment will show up ten episodes at a time, starting in 2018.
