More Podcasts to Scare You Silly This Halloween

Welcome to a second edition of Podcasts to Scare You Silly This Halloween. Last year we gathered some of our favorites from creepy podcasts we found online. This year we’ve added more, with  our choices range from real mysteries to well developed horror stories that will freak you out.

Astonishing Legend

I am head over heels in love with this podcast. Hungering for a story on the Mothman or the Count of St. Germain? Want modern tie-ins and book suggestions? Adore extreme tangents that will lead you further down a conspiracy theory rabbit-hole? I started listening to Astonishing Legends for the stories on ghosts and ended up staying for the UFOs. You will find yourself getting emotionally invested in Forrest and Scott (and the ARC) before you know it.

Rabbits

Just when I think I’ve gotten caught up with everything the Public Radio Alliance has to offer, they give me the glorious gift that is Rabbits. Carly Parker is a journalist who is investigating the disappearance of her best friend Yumiko.  Fearing the worst, she finds herself in the middle of a dangerous game that involves obscure clues, scientific experiments, and the possibility that the world she lives in is not the world she started out in. This podcast will mess with your mind and leave you begging for more episodes in the off season.

The No Sleep Podcast

The No Sleep Podcast is one of those things that will either leave you laughing or locking all of your doors and windows before cuddling a weapon of choice and never sleeping again. Created based off stories from the Reddit No Sleep thread, some of the stories are hauntingly well written, and others make you sigh with the sheer ridiculousness. Rest assured, you will hear something that scares you. I recommend listening to later seasons if you’re more interested in a polished show.

Darkest Night

So, I will admit right here and now that Darkest Night got TOO WEIRD FOR ME. I came for Lee Pace as a narrator and the professional quality sound, and saw my way out after an episode in regards to a demon cult. If you’re open to some extreme descriptions, somewhat horrifying sound effects, and are into some famous names acting, you’ll enjoy this one.
