The Crown: The Official Companion, Volume 1 Helps Glean Fact from Fiction

With Season 2 of The Crown on its way from Netflix in about a month, now is the time to brush up on your historical facts. While wonderfully captivating, viewers may have found themselves asking a few questions such as the all important “is that how it actually happened?” Enter The Crown: The Official Companion, Volume 1. This hardcover book is filled with not only pictures from the show, but also historical photos of Queen Elizabeth II. Written by Robert Lacey, the book is also excellent at pointing out what is fact and what was fiction to make for a better television show.

The Crown: The Official Companion Vol 1 is careful to breakdown the most important people and events of the Queen’s reign in Season 1 of the show. As someone who went to find multiple books to figure out the correct historical context after power watching the first season, I wish I’d had this book at that time. There are enough bites of history to clarify while shortening one’s research time.

The Crown: The Official Companion Vol 1 is available from Crown Archetype Publishing.
