Now playing in a few select theaters, the film Pad Man is taking on the stigma of menstruation and women’s menstrual products. Based on the short story “The Sanitary Man of Sacred Land” by Twinkle Khanna, the film follows a man on a quest to create a low-cost sanitary pad to improve feminine hygiene in India. As he is an inventor in a more rural part of India, his family quickly becomes upset that he would take on a subject that is so taboo. The film starts Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte.
