Day one of Emerald City Comiccon 2019 is wrapped. We had a chance to visit Artist Alley, check out the Vendor Hall, explore the Cosplay Floor and jump in on a LOTR meetup.
Before we post some AWESOME pictures from our first day there are a few things you should know about the logistics of this event…
- The convention entry and exit proedures have changed. You cannot enter on Pike Street, it is an exit only. To enter you must head up 8th or 7th Ave and enter through the back where the metal detectors are.
- There ARE metal detectors. Props, costumes, purses and any object containing metal will be wanded/inspected. All props resembling fire arms MUST have orange tipped caps. Props are subject to comfiscation if deemed forbidden.
- Some Sky Bridges/halls are no longer accessible in the WSCC. Please pay close attention to the signs.
- Celebrity interactions have moved to the Hyatt. A vast majority of meetups are in TCC and the park on the 4th floor behind the WSCC main hall is subject to metal detector re-entry procedures.
Despite these changes we did not wait in line for more than 3 minutes. Everything went smoothly and as we were leaving we did see more metal detectors being setup at the Pike Street entrance so there is a chance that more changes will occur over the weekend.
As for who you should see…check out Skirtzzz in Hall 6 (Artist Alley) and Wink Wares in Hall 4 (Vendor Hall) for some AWESOME merch. Also be sure to swing by the FUNKO station for a quick look at this year’s statue.
Now, ON TO THE PHOTOS!
