Kickstarter Round Up 8/31

Well, it’s that time again. I’m back with our weekly Kickstarter Round Up and it’s a bigger than normal!

We’re starting off this week with the stunning, Niobe & Dura: Wrath of the Ancient #1 by Sebastian Jones & Prentice Penny.

The Half-Elf hero returns in three fantasy tales by Stranger Comics.

Born a half-wild elf (Galermren) of Ujoa, half-human of Isintarre, Niobe is the direct heir to the thrones of both realms who are at war. But she is also half-angel and half-demon. For within her lies the spirit of the goddess (Arunimel) and the devil (Arukas the Untamed), and both will move Heaven and Hell to make her their champion.

We’re going to continue with more fantasy badassery and, Fol’Klor: An Epic Fantasy Comic Book by Cary Nord.

A young girl’s emerging powers are either humanity’s salvation or its doom!

When a frightened young girl is possessed by powers beyond her understanding, she must embrace her destiny to save mankind or risk dooming them to eternal darkness. Critically acclaimed comic artist Cary Nord, known for his Eisner Award–winning run on Conan with writer Kurt Busiek, and other top titles like DC’s Wonder Woman and Marvel’s X-Men, is releasing his first creator-owned work Fol’Klor! It’s is the culmination of a lifetime of dedication to the craft of art and storytelling distilled into one undiluted, uncompromising vision.

We’ve also got, Bi Visibility: A Bisexual Anthology edited by Kat Calamia.

A 44-page comic book anthology ranging from romance to high fantasy about the bisexual experience.

“Bi Visibility is a collection of stories I wish I had when I was young.” —Steve Orlando

Featuring nine different stories from 20 creators, Bi Visibility explores bisexuality from many different perspectives. Says editor Kat Calamia: “As a bisexual creator myself, this is one of the most important projects I’ve ever worked on and a subject near and dear to my heart. Growing up, I had very little bisexual representation. I knew the label existed, but I didn’t know what it looked like, how it felt, or that I could be bisexual. This was the driving force towards putting together this anthology. Representation matters!

There’s also this fun romp; Black Market Heroine: An Action-Adventure Urban Fantasy OGN by Russell Nohelty.

A criminal accidentally rescues the Antichrist and has to keep her alive until morning to prevent the Apocalypse.

Ollie wasn’t looking for trouble, but after she saved the Antichrist from being slaughtered, it came for her. Ollie lived by one rule: Never get involved with anyone for any reason. Humans, demons, fae folk, it didn’t matter. They were all trouble. Keeping her distance was how she survived in the criminal underworld for so long. She thought she had a flawless system for keeping her nose clean, so how did she wind up in a stolen car, with a demon spawn in her back seat, driving away from her ex-lover and a gang of demons ready to skin her alive?

And lastly and just in time for spooky season, The Complete Frank at Home on the Farm by Jordan Thomas.

An oversized hardcover collection of the critically acclaimed four-issue horror series.

Frank at Home on the Farm tells the story of a man returning from war to find his family mysteriously missing from their farm. This sets in motion a series of events that claw and tear at Frank’s mind, body, and soul. Tormented by nightmares of the front line, the mysterious voices that plague him, and disturbed by the townsfolk’s lack of knowledge or interest in his family’s whereabouts, Frank becomes more and more isolated on the farm as he tries to uncover where his parents have vanished to… all under the watchful eye of the farm’s animals.
