‘Bone Parish’ Explores Family, Dead, and Crime Syndicates in The Complete Collection

Share

Set in New Orleans, Bone Parish creates an incredibly complex world of grave robbing, body demolition, and visions in order to create a drug that should be a terrifying concept for any reader. Ash starts off as a drug that allows others to see the memories of the dead, but in the hands of the Winters family is so much more.  Ash starts to gain popularity in town, but it is only a matter of time before a bad trip leads to death, or worse.  As the Winters are the only family who know how to create Ash, they quickly become a target for major criminal drug syndicates.  With some groups wanting to wipe the Winters off the map, and another peddling a fake version that is causing horrific transformations, the Winters family are the only ones who can help stop the madness.

Written by Cullen Bunn, with art by Jonas Scharf, Bone Parish is dark in both tone and art.  The family connections between the Winters Part horror, part family crime drama, Bone Parish is one heck of a wild ride for the reader. The visuals are absolutely stunning, albeit pretty terrifying from time to time. If skulls, corpses, and snakes are your jam, you’ll have no problem.

Bone Parish is available March 5, from BOOM! Studios.
