Thomas Alsop is locked up tight in with the New York City Police. Thanks to a mandate from the Mayor on Manhattan, the publicity obsessed magician and Hand of the Island appears to have no chance of getting out in time for the anniversary of September 11th so that he may free the thousands of souls trapped at the former site of the World Trade Center Buildings. With a little distraction help, Alsop gets free but is quickly beaten to a pulp by citizens of New York. He gets free and seeks out his agent for a little bit of publicity help to keep him away from a frightening threat and keep him safe before the anniversary.
Chris Miskiewicz and Palle Schmidt are nearing the end of this 8 part mini-series, and while I’m dying to know how it all turns out, I can’t help but be a bit sad. Thomas Alsop is just cocky enough to be funny, and just serious enough to hide what he knows. Schmidt’s art style is a creative delight once a month. I wouldn’t mind seeing this title continue with a new story arc.
Thomas Alsop #7 is the penultimate issue of the series and I suggest getting the previous six before jumping head first in.
Thomas Alsop #7 is available December 10, 2014.
