What do you do after you are a multi-platinum Grammy award winning musician? For 17-year old Lorde, you curate the soundtrack for one of the biggest expected releases of the year. Lorde is scheduled to write the lead track for the Mockingjay: Part 1 album, in addition to picking the other tracks and getting it just right.
“Curating the soundtrack for such a hotly-anticipated film was a challenge, but I jumped at the chance,” said Lorde. “The cast and story are an inspiration for all musicians participating and, as someone with cinematic leanings, being privy to a different creative process has been a unique experience. I think the soundtrack is definitely going to surprise people.”
Not only is Lorde the target market for the Hunger Games series, but the woman has serious skill. She currently holds the record for #1 Billboard Chart Female artist in history, and her song “Royals” has even been lampooned by the likes of Weird Al Yankovic.
