Author Peter Tieryas is no stranger to speculative Science Fiction. His novel, Bald New World, discussed the deep complexities of a world obsessed with their appearances since the sudden mass hair shed of the entire population. Tieryas announced his new book, The United States of Japan, on his personal blog on the 16th. While no sites yet have the book available for preorder, a teaser poster has been released to the world:
Poster credited to John Liberto
While there are very few details about the book being released, Tieryas refers to the book via his blog as :
a spiritual sequel to Philip K. Dick’s The Man in the High Castle, and it explores many of the tragedies that took place in Asia during WWII
He further teases that there are more essays and info to come:
A lot more to come, including some essays on the thought process behind the ideas I’ll explore as well as all the research I did and why I chose the subject material. It’s an issue I feel is very important as there’s surprisingly little attention to the events that happened in Asia during the first half of the twentieth century in the States. In contrast, when I visited China, there was so much information, I was shocked.
There is no official release date for the book, and currently the publisher does not offer an official cover.
In the meantime, check out Bald New World on Amazon; on Powell’s.

“when I visited China, there was so much information” – Nice book concept but if he regards any of the CCP’s blatant propaganda regarding WW2 as anything remotely resembling ‘information’ then it sure doesn’t bode well…
