RidersOBIt’s that time again! Time to get on our leathers, snag a local Deadly Nadder and take to the skies of Berk! In this installment of Dragons: Riders of Berk, released by Titan Comics, we begin with the tale of Hookfang and Snotlout. It would seem this stubborn pair, often the comedic relief for this series, are experiencing…growing pains. While growing pains are not pleasant for anyone they seem particularly “combustible” for Hookfang as his scale shedding begins to set Berk on fire. How will the team handle this situation? Can Snotlout move past his stubborn pride and help his dear friend or will Hookfang succumb to the pain of this situation and abandon the riders forever? To make matters worse, Alvin The Terrible catches wind of the troubles in Berk and concocts a clever ploy that could ruin all that Berk has striven to achieve. Written by Simon Furman with inks/colors by: Iwan Nazif, Bambos Georgiou and Nestor Pereyra, Chapter 1: Dragon Down is a testament to the power of friendship.

Chapter Two of Tales from Berk recounts the tribulation of the great “fish mystery.” Berk survives primarily on fish and sheep so when all of the fishermen continue to return without food Stoick becomes concerned. Hiccup, anticipating the typical Viking reaction to this situation of “sail out to the deep, deep beyond and force the fish back into Berk waters”, decides to have his team of dragon trainers explore the ocean in search for answers. Written by Simon Furman and drawn/illustrated by: Iwan Nazif, Lee Townsend, Nestor Pereyra and John Charles, Dangers of the Deep reveals how delicate the balance of nature and man is on the island while exhibiting the strength and preservation of a dragon friendly community.
