Steve Gleason was once a football player for the New Orleans Saints. At the age of 34, he was diagnosed with ALS and told he had 2-5 years to live. Just a few weeks later, he found out that his wife was expecting their first child. He began to film a video journal as a gift for his unborn son, and it became a film that chronicles his determination to live life to the fullest, give hope to others who suffer and adapt to his rapidly weakening body.

His film, Gleason, was well received at the 2016 Sundance film festival, and will be in theaters July 29, 2016.
