People have argued, and will continue to argue, about who the best screen Batman is. There’s little doubt, though, about the best known caped crusader, however. From 1966 to 1968 Adam West and Burt Ward played the crime-fighting duo in a crazy, not-at-all-serious live-action Batman TV show. Now, they’re coming back in animated form, joined by the most famous Catwoman, Julie Newmar. Since “a good crime fighter keeps the citizens informed,” we know that Batman and Robin will be battling “Joker, Riddler, Penguin and Catwoman–on Earth and in space.”
The trailer is appropriately tongue-in cheek as Batman and Robin face death in a distinctly ridiculous (but familiar) type of death trap while discussing their predicament and the upcoming movie. There’s not a whole lot else to say, except that the Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders is coming direct-to video on VOD on October 11, which means we can start counting the days.
Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders is a direct-to-video release that will be available via VOD on Oct. 11 and on Blu-ray starting Nov. 1
