Supremacy of the Cybermen #4

doctor-who-supremacy-of-the-cyberman-4-cover-a Rassilon is a flipping idiot. A flaming idiot. Okay, now with that off my chest, let’s get to it.  Supremacy of the Cybermen #4 is a doozy.  If you’ve been following along with the first of the series you’ll know that Doctors Nine, Ten, Eleven and Twelve are all fighting the cybermen invasion, all in different time periods. And not one of them is having a good day.  Nine has lost Rose and is starting to change into a cyberman himself. Ten believes he has lost his companions and has shoved himself into the wires of a giant Cyberking, Eleven is trapped by the Silurians and is forced to watch his companion be chased through a prehistoric forest, and Twelve is dumbfounded even more than I am by Rassilon’s utterly demented plan.

It sounds bleak I know. It looks bleak upon first inspection. All in all the cybermen are poised to take over not just the world, but the universe and every universe, oh yeah, and time. All of time.

But…..and this is a big but, this is The Freaking Doctor we are talking about. And Nine is pissed. So is Ten. And Eleven. And each of them is fighting back. Hard. Can you imagine having three angry Doctors coming at you? From three different time periods? If the cybermen could feel fear, I think now would be the time they would start.

This is the 4th of 5 in this series, so of course it ends on a cliffhanger, and the only reason I’m not raging about that is that by the cliffhanger Rassilon is being turned on by his cyber-buddies. It amazes me that he thought he was in charge of the whole plan. But nope. The cybermen used him, basically turned him into a cannibalistic monster (huge spoilers here, I’m not telling you). So there is that.

I’m super stoked to see how this ends (the Doctor on top as usual, I’d assume) and am eagerly awaiting next month’s final issue.

Supremacy of the Cybermen #4 came out yesterday from Titan is available now.
