First Blade Runner 2049 Trailer Here

We have the first full Blade Runner 2049 trailer, and it’s a significant improvement on the teaser, running just over two minutes and covering a lot of ground. The rapid shift of scenes gives little chance to get a feel for the plot, other than that there will be the requisite number of explosion and that the conflict between Replicants and humans is still going strong. What the trailer does show, though, is an impressive amount of world building visually. It also gives us further proof of what we already knew: Harrison Ford can act.

There are also hints of a Replicant savior or perhaps prophet who will escalate the conflict further and perhaps provide a different kind of foil for the newest hero, Officer K (Ryan Gosling). There are also a trailer’s worth of cryptic statements that we can all hope will be part of a truly thoughtful movie rather than an overly self-important one–there’s no telling that from a trailer.

Watch and let us know what you think. Does Blade Runner 2049 live up to its predecessor? Will you be going to see it?
